The Oceanogràfic Foundation was established in 2016 to provide new knowledge, inform, and raise awareness among society in order to improve the conservation of species and their natural habitat.

To this end, the Foundation is based on three independent pillars, but with a cross-cutting operation: Research, Conservation, and Outreach-Education.

Through these pillars, scientific and conservation activities are developed, as well as outreach programs to society, allowing the union of forces between the academic and social world in favor of nature protection.

Mission

Connecting society with the marine world and promoting biodiversity conservation through study, direct action, and awareness-raising.

Vision

To be a driving force for social transformation and seek solutions that contribute to ocean conservation.

Our values

  1. We work to ensure the well-being of all marine and aquatic animals, promoting their protection and fostering respect for biodiversity.

  2. We promote ocean sustainability through synergies with various stakeholders to preserve the ecosystem for future generations.

  3. We collaborate with organizations, institutions, governments, and the scientific community to drive joint projects that promote the protection of ecosystems.

  4. We inspire society to learn about the seas and oceans, love them, and protect them.

  5. We develop programs that ensure the conservation of the Planet.

  6. We ensure that all people have access to and equitable participation in all our projects, and we strive to promote equality in each of our actions.

Our pillars

  • Conservation

We carry out actions that directly affect the environment and its species, through the rescue of animals and the restoration and monitoring of the natural environment.

  • Research

Scientific research focuses on both the animals of the Oceanogràfic and wild species and ecosystems for their protection and recovery.

  • Outreach-Education

We bring knowledge of natural heritage to society to increase understanding of species and their habitats, their threats and solutions.
