The Oceanogràfic Foundation and Caixa Popular join forces to promote awareness among visitors with the educational experience “The Sea in Your Hands” and the improvement of the ARCA del MAR atrium. The initiative seeks to promote commitment to the protection and conservation of the marine ecosystem through the cleaning of beaches and natural spaces for the workers and clients of the collaborating entity.

Similarly, thanks to this collaboration, the “Living Lake” experience was launched. This initiative offers aquarium visitors an educational and environmental awareness activity to explore the biodiversity of the “Living Lake.” The Oceanogràfic’s lagoons are a recreation of l’Albufera de Valencia and, in addition to being a refuge for thousands of animals, help us understand the importance of wetlands in the conservation of species.

The tour, designed for all audiences and adapted for people with reduced mobility, consists of seven strategic points that show the naturalization process of the lake and the diversity of species that inhabit it. During the visit, some of the Oceanogràfic Foundation’s conservation projects are highlighted, such as the breeding and repopulation of endangered native species, including the samaruc and the fartet.

In addition, the route offers the option of continuing with an electric bicycle ride to the Albufera Natural Park, allowing participants to apply the knowledge acquired previously and enjoy the landscapes of the Valencian orchard.
