Una cría de tortuga marina, de color oscuro, avanza sobre la arena dentro de un espacio controlado, probablemente parte de un programa de conservación tras su nacimiento en un nido vigilado.

Release of newborn sea turtles as part of the Oceanogràfic Foundation’s Head Starting project. This initiative aims to increase the chances of survival for hatchlings born on our coasts by raising them in controlled conditions during the first months of life.

The activity is held in commemoration of World Oceans Day, an event proclaimed by the United Nations to remember the fundamental role that oceans play in the life of the planet and the urgent need to protect them.

The release of newborn sea turtles has a high educational value, as it allows the public to learn about the challenges these species face and promotes an active environmental awareness. Participating in or witnessing these types of activities makes the youngest especially aware of the importance of conserving marine biodiversity and coastal ecosystems, inspiring responsible behaviors and a real commitment to the protection of the oceans.
