The Oceanogràfic Foundation is organizing a new edition of the Marine Awareness Day, with the collaboration of the Biodiversity Foundation. In this session, we will bring together experts from the marine and scientific fields to share knowledge and encourage citizen involvement in the conservation of the marine environment.
We will have:
Gabi Pérez, founder of Meteowhizz, who will present useful meteorological tools for navigation and explain how weather prediction models work.
Antonio Pradillo, fauna analyst and international kayak fishing champion, who will talk about the evolution of sport fishing towards a more responsible practice linked to conservation and citizen science.
Pau Sendín, from the Oceanogràfic Foundation, who will explain the action protocol in case of finding marine fauna in trouble and the use of the Projecte Posidònia mobile application for sustainable anchoring.
Desiré Vacas, from the Sanamares environmental association, who will present citizen science platforms for the registration of marine species during recreational nautical activities.
This conference is part of the project “Reinforcement of the rescue and conservation work of marine fauna of the ARCA del mar of the Oceanogràfic Foundation (Sanimar)”, with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
An event open to all audiences, especially recommended for lovers of the sea, navigation and marine conservation.
