The scientific ringing of birds is a fundamental technique that allows each specimen to be individually identified, their movements, migrations, and health status to be studied, and valuable information to be obtained for monitoring ecosystems. This activity, which we will carry out together with the company Future Fibres, is part of the environmental services of the Oceanogràfic Foundation, whose objective is to bring the conservation of biodiversity closer to the business community. Future Fibres, dedicated to the development of innovative and sustainable materials for the nautical and aerospace industries, collaborates with the Foundation to reinforce its environmental commitment and contribute to the generation of scientific knowledge. Through this type of action, not only are key data obtained for the protection of species, but companies are also made aware of the importance of getting involved in the conservation of nature as part of their social and environmental responsibility.

In addition to the ringing, the day will include an interpretive route on rice paddies, which will allow a better understanding of the relationship between traditional agricultural activity and the conservation of wetlands. We will also carry out a cleaning of the natural environment, an action that not only directly improves the state of the ecosystem, but also invites reflection on the impact of waste on biodiversity. These cleanups are an opportunity to analyze the causes and origin of the garbage and raise awareness about the importance of reducing it from the root.
