The educational release of a sea turtle with the CEIP Maestro Serrano school is an experiential learning activity that connects the curriculum with real conservation. Students learn firsthand about the biology of turtles, the threats they face, and best practices on the beach, while participating in a symbolic act of returning the turtle to the sea. The turtle, recovered and rehabilitated at the Oceanogràfic’s ARCA del Mar, within the rescue and animal welfare programs, allows us to explain the entire process: notification, veterinary care, recovery, and reintroduction. Thus, the experience fosters environmental responsibility, critical thinking, and the involvement of the educational community in the protection of biodiversity.
