Inclusive Volunteering. Third training session

The third training session of the ‘Seas with Purpose’ program will focus on the problem of marine litter and its impact on ecosystems. Throughout the day, participants will analyze waste and its origin, as well as potential solutions for its mitigation, from both a scientific and citizen perspective. The session will also highlight the role of citizen science as a tool for raising awareness, promoting participation, and generating collective knowledge to address this environmental challenge.

As part of the program’s inclusive approach, ASPRONA volunteers will actively participate in this session. Their involvement will focus on raising awareness of the barriers faced by people with intellectual disabilities in their daily lives and in social participation settings, thus promoting a more accessible and empathetic view towards real inclusion in environmental actions.

This session is part of the inclusive volunteering program promoted by the Oceanogràfic Foundation since 2024 in collaboration with ASPRONA, an association for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
