We offer enriching outreach-educational experiences to vulnerable groups. These experiences contribute to reducing inequalities.

We bring scientific knowledge and love for nature and biodiversity to those who have more difficulties. To this end, we focus our efforts on generating adapted content and attractive activities for the different cognitive and social realities of people.

  • The Oceanogràfic Foundation Goes to Hospitals

We are expanding our educational commitment to Valencian hospitals with the program “The Oceanogràfic Foundation goes to Hospitals.”

This Outreach and Education program seeks to raise awareness among children hospitalized for long periods by adapting its educational offerings. To this end, the Oceanogràfic and the Foundation provide training, materials and educational resources, including “La Marleta Marina,” a chest full of treasures to discover the richness and threats of the seas. This effort is part of an ongoing collaboration with hospitals.

The Hospital Pedagogical Unit (UPH) is the educational resource that the Conselleria d’Educació has established in the public hospitals of the Valencian Community to provide educational support to hospitalized students.

The mission of the UPH is to provide continuity with schools through a motivating and enriching education project, thus facilitating the improvement of their hospital stay, offering normalcy and reducing the feeling of stress that a hospital admission can produce.

Daily reading, play, research and the celebration of the usual festivities in schools are some of the main resources that are used, and our teaching materials constitute an indirect form of contact with nature.

Which groups do we serve?

We work with people with physical, mental, sensory, and/or developmental disabilities, as well as migrants, people at risk of social exclusion, or refugees. And we recognize the importance of collaborating with the associative fabric that raises the demands of each group, generating significant synergies.

What activities do we carry out?

Our actions are as varied as the groups we serve. The diversity of these groups is our engine of innovation and improvement: educational workshops, guided tours, release of fauna, cleaning of natural spaces… If it is adapted, anything is possible!
