Paradores De Turismo

The Oceanogràfic Foundation and Paradores de Turismo strengthen their commitment to sustainability and the conservation of the marine environment through the awareness campaign “The sea begins here.” This is a joint initiative that seeks to promote the responsible management of waste in all establishments of the hotel chain, both on the coast and inland, highlighting the connection between actions on land and their impact on the oceans, since 80% of marine waste originates on land.

Awareness and environmental education actions

Within the framework of this collaboration, Paradores annually installs informative posters in its 97 establishments, with clear and educational messages aimed at its clients and employees. In addition, the posters include a QR code that offers family activities to learn about caring for the environment in a fun and participatory way. This approach allows both adults and children to understand the importance of preserving marine biodiversity from anywhere in the national territory.

The campaign also includes awareness workshops and practical activities such as the release of sea turtles recovered in the Recovery and Conservation Area of Animals (ARCA) of the Sea of the Oceanogràfic of Valencia. These experiences help to strengthen the link between the participants and the need to protect marine ecosystems.
