Beach Cleanup with Santiago Apóstol School

Activity with the Santiago Apóstol del Cabanyal School. This center is part of a project shared with the Oceanogràfic’s Department of Education, in which our staff supports the faculty by offering technical advice and proposing activities. On this occasion, the students will learn to sample marine litter found on the beach and its subsequent classification and analysis.

The objective of cleaning natural spaces is not only to remove the waste that reaches the beaches, but also to apply criteria to compare the pollution situation in different areas of the Spanish coast and prevent waste at its source. Systematized monitoring with waste registration and management criteria allows generating a database on quantities, trends, and sources of pollution in the sea.
