The conservation of sea turtle nests would not be possible without the help of the community. Every year, thousands of people who enjoy our coasts become the eyes that detect tracks, nests or turtle hatchlings, which is crucial to protect them in an environment that faces increasing threats.
When a person reports the presence of a nest, it activates a protocol that includes experts from the Oceanogràfic Foundation, through the Stranding Network of the Valencian Community. This process allows us to assess the situation, protect the nest, and move part of the eggs to a protected beach and the rest to the incubators of the Oceanogràfic of Valencia to ensure their survival if either part does not evolve.
Your collaboration can make a difference by acting as the first link in this protection chain. In addition to identifying nests, avoiding behaviors that could harm turtles is also an active way to contribute.
