This nautical and informative proposal, aimed at the general public, will be held from August 7 to 10, 2025. <\/p>\n<p>The event was attended by <strong>Jos\u00e9 Manuel Guzm\u00e1n<\/strong>, captain of the Cervantes Saavedra schooner, and the biologists from the Oceanogr\u00e0fic and its foundation, <strong>Roc\u00edo Pajares, Pablo L\u00f3pez, Lorena Exp\u00f3sito, and Amparo Segurado<\/strong>, who detailed the educational and environmental nature of the project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSailing on the Cervantes Saavedra allows you to discover the sea and learn to value and protect it,\u201d said Guzm\u00e1n. The Cervantes Saavedra Schooner is a training ship that is also one of the campuses of the <strong>Camilo Jos\u00e9 Cela University<\/strong>, in this case its campus on the sea. \u201cAmong the activities we carry out on the schooner, we would like to highlight, in addition to the Blue Planet voyage, the upcoming Navigators for History trip (prize of the contest of the same name organized by the Camilo Jos\u00e9 Cela University, the Royal Academy of History, and the Vicens Vives publishing house) and the activities that are part of the Summer SEK program (the summer courses of the SEK Schools),\u201d the captain pointed out.  <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-61280 img-fluid\" src=\"https:\/\/fundacionoceanografic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Presentacion-Cervantes-Saavedra-1024x683-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\"><\/p>\n<p>For her part, Roc\u00edo Pajares, a biologist from the Oceanogr\u00e0fic, added that \u201cwe try to raise awareness of the marine world to the general public. We spend four days at sea, bringing families and groups of friends closer to marine species and their protection, and we do it on this schooner, which is a privileged place. These are four fantastic days, in which we learn many things, so we invite everyone to live the experience.\u201d The biologist, Lorena Exp\u00f3sito, said that during the voyage there will be a turtle release, \u201ca project that we carry out from the Oceanogr\u00e0fic Foundation. In this case, we will release a turtle that is fully recovered. We want to publicize the work we do from our center so that society becomes aware of everything that is in the marine world.\u201d <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-61283 img-fluid\" src=\"https:\/\/fundacionoceanografic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Presentacion-Cervantes-Saavedra-5-1024x683-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\"><\/p>\n<p>The Blue Planet Voyage is aimed at people of all ages interested in the conservation of the marine environment and life aboard a historic sailboat. For four days, participants will explore the Mediterranean and the Balearic Islands through environmental awareness activities, wildlife observation, citizen science, and coexistence at sea. The experience includes:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Workshops led by specialists from the Oceanogr\u00e0fic.<\/li>\n<li>Observation and identification of cetaceans and marine birds.<\/li>\n<li>Study of microplastics and analysis of samples.<\/li>\n<li>Active navigation and life on board in a coexistence regime.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-61281 img-fluid\" src=\"https:\/\/fundacionoceanografic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Presentacion-Cervantes-Saavedra-1-1024x683-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\"><\/p>\n<p>This project, which has already completed five editions, is consolidated as an educational and sustainable leisure alternative in summer, which promotes contact with nature, experiential learning, and environmental awareness in an accessible and shared format between generations. The registration period is now open through the official website <strong>goletacervantes.es.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Cervantes Saavedra Schooner<\/strong> is the training ship of the <strong>UCJC<\/strong>, a historic sailboat that acts as a campus at sea for educational, scientific, and cultural projects, offering unique training experiences on board.
