The animal was very weak due to the injuries caused by the fishhook it had ingested, attracted by the bait of a fish, so the technicians decided that an emergency intervention was necessary.

Members of the Veterinary Department of the Oceanogràfic Foundation have successfully removed the hook using endoscopy, a non-invasive surgical technique that is more advanced and an alternative that facilitates the animal’s recovery.

This morning, the hook was successfully removed by endoscopy, a non-invasive technique alternative to surgery that facilitates the animal’s recovery, which will not have to heal.

After the intervention, the convalescing bird has been transferred to La Granja for the treatment of its wounds.
